As a Citizen of Earth and its "Universal Home" - to increase my opportunities for a secure, creative and increasingly fulfilled life in a more peaceful and universally supportive society - possessed as I am of the dignity and freedom of individuality (with its power of personal control over choices in my inner life); I ____________________, pledge my best part in "The Challenge of Peace:" courageously and strongly to choose good will over ill will and to resist using violence in any situation - even when I may feel confused, upset, injured and in need of defending myself and others; or in need of defense; as I face conflicts and creative opportunities, large and small, throughout life.
